Pueblo West Dental Care is happy to offer two ways to whiten your
teeth, Brite Smile and Zoom.
Brite Smile
The treatment can be completed in just over an hour in our office
with Brite
Smile, or you can choose at-home treatments. A dazzling smile
isn't just for celebrities any more. It's for you, because you're
worth it. You can be custom fitted for a tray containing whitening
gel quickly and easily in your initial visit, then continue treatments
in your home until your teeth are as bright as you want. Whitening
really does work like magic. You'll notice the difference immediately...and
so will everyone else.
Tooth bleaching involves the placement of a bleaching solution
on the teeth to eliminate stains and discoloration. The solution
is held in place by a custom-made, see-through tray that fits
over the teeth - much like a mouthpiece worn by a professional
boxer. Bleaching is a safe, effective and relatively easy means
of producing a whiter smile.
Two bleaching methods are available: Power Bleaching with a Laser,
done at our office, and At-Home-Bleaching, which provides for
home use (not to be confused with over-the-counter bleaching products
available in your local drug store). The difference between the
two is the strength of the whitening agent and the time it takes
to get effective results. Power bleaching usually takes three
to six visits, while home bleaching may take up to four weeks
of regular use.Sensitive teeth, or those that are chipped, eroded
or weakened by cavities, should be repaired or protected before
they are bleached.
Zoom!
Zoom Teeth Whitening! Zoom! Got its name from its speed. It's
considered one of the fastest teeth whitening systems, and can
fit easily into the most hectic of schedules. Zoom! can whiten
your teeth at the office or at home. If you choose the in-office
teeth whitening option, your teeth should look up to eight shades
lighter in just one hour. If you choose the take-home option,
your teeth should look up to six shades lighter in just three
days-and, with additional applications, you can go even lighter.
Zoom! One-hour whitening is a light-activated teeth whitening
treatment. After checking your teeth and gums to ensure they are
healthy enough to handle bleaching, your dentist will spread a
whitening gel containing hydrogen peroxide over your teeth. Then,
he or she will flash the Zoom! Low-heat on your teeth to activate
and break down the hydrogen peroxide. As the hydrogen peroxide
breaks down, it allows oxygen to enter your teeth and bleach the
dentin and enamel. After three twenty-minute gel applications,
your dentist will finish up the procedure with a five-minute fluoride
treatment.
Zoom! Take-Home System treatment is available in "weekender"
kits perfect for anyone who wants quick results. The kits come
with tray materials and instructions for how to make an impression
of your teeth and send it off to a lab. You will receive your
custom-made tray shortly. This is the tray that holds the gel
in place during applications. Like the in-office treatment, the
take-home treatment uses hydrogen peroxide, which breaks down
to allow oxygen to bleach the teeth. The at-home formula is designed
for improved gel penetration and controlled oxygen release. You
will place this formula into a custom-made tray, created especially
for your mouth from a mold cast by your dentist. Typically, at-home
users wear each application for anywhere between four to eight
hours, depending on the length of time the dentist recommends.
Zoom! studies show an improvement of up to six shades after just
three applications.
